Update:

After a long "off season", Group R Motorsports will make it's first appearance of the season on Saturday July 31st at Oswego Speedway's $10K to win Mr. Supermodified event. This race, coupled with our upcoming "iPod, Street Rod and Supermod" fundraiser will propel us to the ultimate Supermodified race in the country: the Oswego International Classic on Labor Day Weekend.

The Fundraiser will also include a Chicken BBQ at Jimmy James BBQ (Rte 104 at County Route 6, New Haven, NY) on Sunday August 8th. This event will have several special guests to be announced and chances for more prizes. 

In addition to The $10K to win and Classic weekend, Oswego will also host the "Pack The Track" anniversary night on Saturday, August 7th and the Twin 30's Championship night on Saturday August 21st.

About Us:

at Group R Motorsports, we race a supermodified, the ultimate in paved, short track race cars. It is constructed of Chrome-Moly tubing with a frame just wide enough to fit the driver. The engine, a fuel injected, methanol burning big block (467 c.i.), is offset 18" to the left with the entire driveline outside the frame. This increases the left side weight to 68% and provides maximum cornering abilities. With a right rear tire measuring 18" wide and a low slung, sleek profile, the supermodified is built for speed! 

Our team took the former Kelly Miller Supermodified and modified it into a "modern" style super by adding a push-rod front suspension, front and rear wings and a motor built by Doug Holmes of Finger Lakes Auto Machine. We now have a solid platform to compete at Oswego Speedway.

At the biggest race of the year in our first season (1998, in the Small Block Super division), we went from last to 10th place after being added to the field as the bubble car. Quite an accomplishment as a first year team.

Even though we are now in the supermodified division, Group R Motorsports constructs and sells Small Block Super frames and support pieces. For the 2011 season, we hope to have a SBS house car competing a Oswego Speedway and the NORA SBS tour.

Racing Highlights/History:

We are a grass roots, Saturday night race team that has raced at Oswego since 1998. Bob Bogwicz, the owner/driver has been attending the races at Oswego since 1970 and is well versed in it's history. Bob started in the Oswego support division (Small Block Supers) in 1998 and moved up to a full fledged super in 2006.
Long Term Team Racing Goals:
To win a feature at Oswego Speedway, to win the International Classic at Oswego Speedway and to win a winged supermodified race with either ISMA or MSA.

Our team is neat in appearance and professional in manner. If we are sponsored, it is our task to drive customers to your business, assist in creating high employee morale and generally have fun doing what we do. In addition the owner/driver is a well spoken professional (electrical engineer by trade) with experience in interacting with customers and public speaking.

Our goals for our sponsors:
There are two reasons for someone to sponsor a race team. One, to be associated with a team for the love and thrill of the sport and two, to use the race team as a vehicle to promote their products and services. Of course a combination of both reasons would be the ultimate! At Group R Motorsports, we strive to include our sponsors as partners with both of the above goals. A sponsor will assist us in our racing endeavors and in return, we will assist our sponsor with their company goals, whether it be selling product, driving customers to your business or increasing employee morale.
