Clifton Savage won his first race on July 17th, 2010 at Langley Speedway by beating out 2nd place by only 26-thousandths of a second at the line, beating out a 2-kart draft of the two best drivers and most successful drivers this year.

About Me:

Clifton Savage works full-time on night shift at Canon Virginia Inc. to help pay for racing. Clifton Savage has raced in the Pro Wing Champ Karts division at Langley Speedway, where he got his first win on July 17th, 2010 by only 26-thousandths of a second.
Clifton will be racing a 4-cylinder hobby stock (UCAR) in 2010 and run for Rookie of The Year in 2011.
Clifton will also be racing an Arena Racing USA car, if sponsors come through.

Clifton's family has supported his racing since 2008, even when they did not even have a truck to haul the kart in, nor a place to store or work on the kart. They borrowed a neighbors truck, until finally purchasing an S-10 in the end of 2008. Clifton's family, his father and brother are his biggest teammates at Langley, and without them he would not be where he is today.

Clifton plans on racing in any form of racing, including, but not limited to, NASCAR Late Models, NASCAR Whelen Modifieds, USAC Sprint cars, IZOD Indy cars, NASCAR K & N Pro Series, NASCAR Camping World Trucks, ARCA, NASCAR Nationwide, and of course NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

Racing Career Highlights/History:

Started racing in 2008 at Langley Speedway. Practiced Wednesday before a July 3rd race on Thursday. A few practices, then race in a field of 38 karts and ended up finishing 28th. Made top-15s all season long. 2009, started off with a 10th place finish in the first race. 

First big wreck in second race of the year checking-up for drafting partner got spun out by rough drivers, spun my kart around and got drilled from the left front by an on-coming kart. Multiple top-14s with highest of 7th one race and 8th in another. 

Final race of the season dropped back for teammate who got spun out, as we drafted out way back as high as 8th, but finished 10th and 11th, the two of us.

As of 2010, Clifton has posted multiple top-10s, mainly in the 6s and 7s, with finally getting a win on July 17th, with his drafting partner and brother, John pushing him to the win beating out the 3-kart draft of the outside line.

Long Term Career/Racing Goals:

Racing successfully in Pro Wing Champ Karts, and moving up and learning as much as I can in bigger cars and in more competitive fields and stand competitive.
